Job Description
Journeyman Electrician needed for industrial work in Lake Charles. Install and terminate industrial electrical systems including motor controls, lighting, and power distribution. Troubleshoot motor control circuits, VFDs, and control wiring. Perform conduit installation, wire pulling, and proper terminations. Read and interpret electrical drawings, one-lines, and schematics. Install and wire motor control centers, switchgear, and distribution panels. Perform megger testing, continuity checks, and circuit verification. Follow NEC code requirements and maintain quality workmanship. Coordinate with instrumentation and controls technicians on interface points. Maintain strict lockout tagout compliance and safe work practices. Must hold valid journeyman electrical license. Schedule is 5 days per week with 10 hour shifts. Full per diem and travel provided.
Requirements
- Valid journeyman electrician license required for work location. Minimum 4 years industrial electrical experience required. Proficiency with motor controls, VFDs, and industrial wiring systems. Ability to read electrical drawings, schematics, and one-lines. Knowledge of NEC code requirements and proper installation methods. Experience with conduit bending, wire pulling, and terminations. Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check. OSHA 30 certification required. NFPA 70E training for arc flash awareness required. Must have own hand tools and reliable transportation.
